My license code does not work on a new computer. What should I do?
When you want to use Xemod on a new computer and removed it from the old one you are entitled to get a substituting license code. See our website for the procedure and the form to request one. If you didn't undo the old Xemod installation or if you want to install Xemod on a second computer, you need to buy an extra license.
What are the system requirements for Xemod 2010?
- Operating System: Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7
- Processor: 2.2GHz or more
- Internal Memory: 1Gb or more
Can I convert files, created with Xemod 2008, to Xemod 2010?
No, you can't. The metamodel of Xemod 2010 was developed from scratch because of deficiencies in the metamodel of Xemod 2008, which was in fact a rebranding of the Essential Business Modeler tool (also known as EBM or EssMod). We also had to modernize the presentation layer. Because of those reasons the differences in the metamodel were too big to define a generic conversion from Xemod 2008 to Xemod 2010. So it's not possible to convert files from Xemod 2008 to Xemod 2010.
How can I reuse data from the repository in a (new) diagram?
All data that you defined can be viewed via the 'Model' part of the Project Explorer. Expand the folders to view individual items (like actor roles, categories, fact kinds). Now you can drag an item to the diagram. Or, for boundaries, you click on the item and then draw the boundary on the diagram. Dragging or drawing the item to a diagram will not be possible if the kind of item is not allowed on the kind of diagram you are drawing (for example fact kinds cannot be drawn on a Process Structure Diagram).
